nohistory.chat is a service for temporary, ephemeral conversations. You may use it for legitimate purposes including projects, coordination, venting, and casual discussion.

Prohibited Activities

You may not use this service to:

nohistory.chat is specifically designed not to be a backup or archive:

Room Metadata

Messages

Plain-text messages are stored temporarily until the room expires or is deleted. Once expired, messages are removed from the system.

Abuse Reports

When a room is reported:

Simple counters per IP address to prevent spam and flooding. These are not permanent records.

All connections should be protected with HTTPS, which encrypts traffic between your browser and server. This prevents ISPs and network administrators from reading your messages.

On Server

Messages are stored on the server in plain text. They are not end-to-end encrypted. While we use secure practices:
